How to Sell on MorisMart
Welcome to MorisMart.Mauritius local buy and sell marketplace.Whether you're clearing out unused items or running a small business,this guide explains everything you need to know to start selling.
1. Listing Pricing
Standard Listings (Free)
Listing an item on MorisMart is completely free. There are no upfront fees.
When your item sells through a standard listing, MorisMart charges a 5% commission on the final sale price.
This means:
You pay nothing to list your item
MorisMart only earns when your item sells
Featured Listings (MUR 385)
If you want maximum visibility, you can upgrade to a Featured Listing for MUR 385.
Featured Listings include:
Priority placement at the top of the MorisMart homepage
Promotion across TikTok, Facebook and Instagram
Eligibility for express delivery (if delivery is enabled)
Zero commission when the item sells
Advertising on MorisMart is free for all sellers.

2. How to Submit Your Listing
To list an item, contact MorisMart on WhatsApp at +230 5713 9973.
Before messaging, prepare the following:
4 to 5 clear photos of your item
(Optional) A short video
An honest description
The condition of the item
Your asking price in Mauritian Rupees
Once your submission is received, it will be reviewed and published within 24 hours.
3. Seller Requirements
To keep MorisMart safe and trustworthy, all sellers must follow these guidelines.
Proof of Ownership
You must be the legal owner of any item you list.
For higher-value items such as:
Electronics
Vehicles
Jewellery
You may be asked to provide:
A receipt
Proof of purchase
Relevant documentation
Selling stolen, counterfeit or illegally obtained goods is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Product Honesty
Be honest about the condition of your item.
Use one of the following conditions:
New
Like New
Good
Fair
For Parts
If the item has:
Scratches
Missing parts
Defects
These must be clearly stated.
All photos must be real photos of the actual item, not images taken from the internet or other listings.
Photos and Media
Each listing requires a minimum of 4 photos and a maximum of 5.
Photos should:
Be clear and well-lit
Show the item from multiple angles
For electronics or mechanical products, a short video is strongly recommended.
Do not add watermarks or text overlays to images.
Communication
Once your listing is live, you should be available on WhatsApp to respond to buyers.
Sellers are expected to:
Reply promptly
Be honest
Be respectful
Providing false contact information or repeatedly ignoring buyers may result in your listing being removed.

4. Commission and Payments
For standard free listings, MorisMart charges a 5% commission once the item sells.
This amount is deducted before the remaining balance is transferred to you.
For Featured Listings (MUR 385):
No commission is charged, regardless of the sale price.
Once the buyer completes payment upon delivery, MorisMart processes and transfers your earnings promptly.
5. Delivery
MorisMart offers delivery for eligible items when both the buyer and seller agree.
Delivery is available for small items, such as:
Electronics
Small appliances
Clothing
Accessories
Similar compact goods
As a general rule, if it fits comfortably in a bag, it qualifies for delivery.
Delivery Details
Delivery Fee: MUR 250 (paid by the buyer)
Delivery Time: 1–2 business days
Buyers pay upon delivery and may inspect the item before completing payment, ensuring a safe transaction for both parties.
Once payment is confirmed, MorisMart transfers the funds to the seller.
MorisMart handles all delivery logistics, so sellers do not need to arrange transport.
6. Featured Listings
A Featured Listing (MUR 385) gives your item the best chance of selling quickly.
Benefits include:
Placement at the top of the MorisMart homepage
Promotion across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms
Eligibility for express delivery(next day delivery)
Zero commission when sold

7. Prohibited Items
The following items cannot be listed on MorisMart under any circumstances:
Weapons and firearms
Illegal drugs or controlled substances
Counterfeit or replica branded products
Stolen goods
Adult or inappropriate content
Live animals
Any item that violates Mauritian law
MorisMart reserves the right to remove any listing and permanently ban sellers who violate these rules.
Serious violations may be reported to the relevant authorities.
